Who I Am

IMG_2126

My name is Michael Johnson. I am the son of John H. Johnson who died from mesothelioma in 2012. I am a man who never thought one of my parents would ever become terminally ill. I am a man who grew up having a great childhood. Becoming an adult I had the irreplaceable pleasure of having my father also as my best friend. Now he is gone, and the pain from losing my father and best friend is what drives me to help others. Asbestos poisoned my father’s body from the materials he was surrounded by and the products he used in the industry he worked in, making a living to support his family.

I am a man who wants to help others stricken with mesothelioma. I am here to help take all the guessing and unanswered questions you might have, answered correctly, so you can focus on getting the correct treatment and getting well. I have created a non- profit 501c3 named after my father, J.J. Mesothelioma Foundation in order to help fund my goals of continuing to raising awareness. I can meet with mesothelioma patients and their families so they can ask any questions they might have, either by phone, email, or face to face. Not someone who has not been through the battle.

I am involved with the Pacific Meso Center, http://www.phlbi.org helping with fund raising events, donating money to help with research and early detection. I am continually working with and trying to help promote a Mesothelioma Center of Excellence at the Los Angeles Veterans Administration. I am a co sponsor and bike racer of the number one masters cycling team in America, Monster Media presented by FIGHT MESO. We race locally and around the country at select events helping spread the message that there is help out there if you have been diagnosed with mesothelioma. With the help of my mother we sponsor the Pro Mens cycling race, The John Johnson Pro Mens Classic in Dana Point, CA, which is the number one criterium in America.

I will help with all the information one will be inundated with and steer them in the right direction. I will shoot straight, no hesitation, no misleading answers, no candy coating. You have nothing to loose by reaching out to me. Time is not on your side with mesothelioma. I know first hand.
